*iz ded* The QAF fandom is so amazing. I got a wonderful email yesterday afternoon, while I was baking a "Crustless Apple Pie" aka Apple Crisp for my third American Thanksgiving in Vienna.
(the following is an anonymous gift)
Your InsaneJournal account "etextraordinary" has been upgraded to a Permanently Insane account. InsaneJournal Team
When I saw this email, my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it. One of my lovely friends here gave me a Permanently Insane account with Insane Userpics!!!!!!! *does happy dance*
I was trying to figure out what I could do to give something back to the wonderful fandom, and I decided on two things. If you have any fic prompts you would like post them and I will try to get them back to you ASAP (hopefully with in 2 weeks). And part 2- do you love chocolate? I will send you some delicious (German) Chocolate from Austria. If you give me your address in a PM or at my email (etextraordinary @ gmail.com) I will mail you a tasty holiday treat!
I ♥ QAF Fandom

I love black Friday! I get up late, well late enough. I woke up at 10:30 and was to awake to try to go back to sleep. Then I laze around. Kids pretty much do what they want, and I don't cook a damned thing. (unless you count nukin left-overs as cooking) I think I even ended up taking a nap for an hour or so. Great kinda day in my book.
Is my cat the only one that chirps? I have never heard a cat chirp before we got this one. She hears the Pounce shake or open, and she is all chirps and merorows. Noisy thing. (She's a fat thing too, lol)
I got a reply from the IM. She still refuses to even meet me at the airport. But, the shuttle might not be as bad as I first thought. It is one you book your seat in a head of time. She could have saved me quite a bit of worry had she simply given me all the information, but she still seems to think that the longer the emails are the move evil they are. I might just have to mention that, most likely won't though. At this point I doubt it would do any good. It's really sad, the turn this relationship has taken.
Date night tomorrow. Going to see 2012, have no idea where we are going to eat. Jeff is doing the "I don't care." thing...I hate that.
Hugs to all!

As some of you already know, I am doing a Drawbles Donation Drive.
1 or 2 USD for a smoochy drawble.
Sadly the website of the Grameen Foundation as small donation issues i.e. you currently can only donate USD15 and more. And while that would be awesome I totally understand that that is a bit much.
I am now accepting any reasonable tolerant charity organisation of your choice.

Tonight I'm going to start over and try something new for the Snarry Swap. Although I love much of what I've done so far it just isn't coming together at all. I'll try something else tonight and tomorrow, but if that doesn't work, I'll probably go back to this piece and struggle to finish it. I've been trying to work on it all day and much of last night and it's still not coming together no matter what I seem to do. There's also the fact that it's grown so large that resizing it would lose some important things. I don't like that.
So it's back to the drawing board and hopefully re-planning that will work out. I just hate it when things are too difficult.

* Hope all who celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful time spent with family and friends.
* The Girl Child went to the Black Friday sales this morning. At 4:49, while I was doing some serious sleeping, she texted. Scared me to death. Why did she text at that unholy hour, you ask... because she spotted John Travolta at the mall. Jesus. She's a freak.
* The Boy Child had to work today - so no shopping for him. Instead, he gave the Girl a list and his debit card. He gave his sister his fucking debit card. When she was going to a mall. The boy is an idiot. Honestly.
* It's chilly here in the Sunshine State tonight. Lovely thing, that. Right along with the Criminal Minds marathon on A&E.
* And, on a Criminal Minds note, this week's episode killed me. Dead. *pets the CM team*

...after I've been up for the requisite number of minutes or hours (they were always as changeable and unpredictable as the mood of a cat), I'm supposed to have an annoying white cat trying to curl up on my work laptop. (Which, if this were a normal Friday morning, would be open because I'd be trying to get actual work done on it).
I'd be half-annoyed and half-amused, and trying not to give in to the urge.
On Wednesday, I gave into the urge and let the Luna-chick sleep with her head on the keyboard of my open laptop. Later that day, a vet gave up part of her lunch and we had Luna, our beautiful white cat, put to sleep.
We only had her for about a year and a half, but she clawed her way into our hearts and claimed space in our lives and our home.
Miss you, LunaTiCat.

We went down to Salinas to J's sister's new place, and holy crap is it huge. It's got a nifty layout, and infinitely more space than their old house. We hadn't seen Natalie since before she was walking so it took a while for her to stop giving J and I the suspicious eye, but by the end of the night it was lots of carry-me arms, and where Sophie is usually all about her Uncle J, somehow this time I ended up with her hanging on me more often than not. I suspect it was that I was wearing a pink shirt so that boosted my coolness rating. It's interesting to see the ways her personality has changed now that she's a big sister. Sometimes I wish we lived a bit closer in order to visit more often.
Anyway, we hung out, ate food, played with dolls, tried to devise a plan to steal their adorable pug, and at the end of the evening I got the bonus of belated b-day gifts. See subject. I have also increased my fuzzy scarf collection by one, so I should probably put out some of the ones I don't wear often out onto the curb.
The drive was nice, and J and I talked a lot about the ways in which we'd like to focus on our projects for school and general creative things. I'm back to having a solid idea of where to go with my current assignments so I'm feeling very rejuvenated about them. Which is good, as I need to be doubly-focused this weekend, since I didn't actually get any extra days off, and the lab is closed tomorrow which is typically my dedicated time to go in and work all day on my homework!
